Meet Dr. Raptis

I would like to thank you personally for taking the time to read my biography and welcome you to our practice.

Being an orthodontist is a wonderful career: I improve people’s lives by creating beautiful, lasting smiles and I build lasting friendships at the same time!

Education and Continuing Education

Becoming an orthodontist was one of the greatest achievements of my professional career. The process started at the University of Maryland, where I completed my bachelor’s degree. I moved to Boston, where I conducted academic research at Boston University and obtained a master’s in public health.

For my dental school training, I attended the University of Pennsylvania, where I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Medicine. I completed my orthodontic specialty training at New York University. At the same time, after successfully completing all the required exams I became a Board Certified orthodontist, one of the highest levels of achievements in our field.

My passion to achieve excellence and provide the best care for my patients is my primary motivation in attending continuing education courses. I study advances in techniques and technologies in depth, in order to provide patients with current, proven care options.

I have also authored many articles in the most prestigious orthodontics journals and continue to be involved in academics.

At the Office

I am truly amazed by the difference my team and I make in people’s lives. When treatment is complete, people are happy to smile and confident to pursue and achieve their dreams. Helping patients maintain their beautiful smiles is one of my main priorities, so I stay in touch with patients for years after treatment is officially finished.

Each patient is special to me and to my staff. We work really hard to provide outstanding care, and use the best materials, new equipment, and up-to-date techniques. I am honored and humbled to work with such a wonderful, experienced team. Each member loves to come to work and is always giving 110% to our patients. They are highly trained, friendly, and dedicated to helping others.

Being a father of two little boys, Dean and Alex, keeps me busy at home. My wife, sons, and I never miss apple picking in the fall, festivals throughout the year, and picnics at the park. The Mystic Aquarium, Lake Compounce, and the Connecticut Science Center are some of our favorite places to visit. We love living in Connecticut and are thrilled to be raising our family here.
